What Moves Us
The Flow State is a pole dance collective comprised of online learning, in-person experiences, and visual art production.
Our mission is rooted in exploring consciousness through movement and the acknowledgement that every person has unique gifts worthy of expression.
Through our movement practices and creative expressions, we enter a space of direct inquiry with the unknown. In these moments, the body becomes a vessel that translates the intangible into something that can be felt, witnessed, and shared.
From this lens, pole dance becomes a doorway into deeper relationship with ourselves. This leads to deeper relationships with the world around us through the cultivation of awareness, presence, connection, and trust. These elements become embodied gifts that serve all facets of our personal lives and the collective consciousness at large.
At the Flow State, it’s integral to acknowledge that our communities flourish most when we honor and celebrate the cultural roots and creative pioneers that continue paving the way in the world of pole dance.
That understanding shape our commitment to amplifying voices that have been historically marginalized, most notably our BIPOC, SW, and LGBTQ+ communities. It is especially important to create spaces where these artists can connect, express, collaborate, and explore.
